Pic of the Day: “The Killing”

Monday’s pic is an original still of the iconic shot of Tim from Stanley Kubrick’s The Killing (1956). Tim portrays Nikki Arcane, a puppy-loving low life hired by Johnny Clay (Sterling Hayden) to assassinate a race horse as part of an intricate race track robbery plan.

The Beatles used Tim’s face from this shot on the cover of the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album, but for some reason it ended up obscured by George Harrison. All you can see is the back of his jacket. Smart move, fellas. Scroll down a bit on this page and you’ll see the original.
