Video of the Week: “Rio Conchos”

This week’s video is another full-length film! This time it’s Rio Conchos (1964), directed by Gordon Douglas. Timothy is uncredited as sleazy cantina owner Chico, first appearing at about 1 hour 5 minutes into the movie.

It’s not exactly what you’d call racially sensitive, unfortunately, but remember this was 1964. It does have a cracking good cast – Richard Boone, Anthony Franciosa, Stuart Whitman and Edmond O’Brien. Check it out!

  1. RIO CONCHOS is a real winner. I worked with Anthony Franciosa on a remake of MATT HELM some years ago and I got to talking about working with Tim. Well, the eyes widened and he coughed out a few epithets and made a crack about how Tim’s antics caused him to lose his concentration a few times. The scenes in the brothel especially. Richard Boone had to stare him down a few times he said. Then, when we went back to work Tony couldn’t remember HIS lines and had to have a teleprompter behind me which made ME nervous as the guy’s now talking over my shoulder instead of in my eyes!! Just the memory of Tim I guess, lol; Ahhhh, Tim, wish you were there buddy.
