Huzzah! I got my copy of the Bill Elliott Detective Mysteries set the other day, and made some new screen caps from Chain of Evidence (1957). Here once again, but in sharp focus this time, is ill-tempered sleazeball Carl Fowler. He’s trying to pull a fast one on Sgt. Mike Duncan (Don Haggerty) and Lt. Andy Doyle (Elliott). He may be selling it but they ain’t buying it.
Oh man – much better! Good quality prints are worth their weight in gold. Thank you, Warner Archive Collection!
Today we take another look at director Paul Landres‘ Chain of Evidence (1957) and Timothy’s 2×4-wielding low-life Carl Fowler. He’s been pulled in by the cops, but naturally he denies everything.
EDITOR’S NOTE 06/02/14: The original poor quality screen cap that accompanied this post has now been replaced with one from the new commercial DVD release! You can now purchase the two-disc Bill Elliott Detective Mysteries set that includes Chain of Evidence. Thank you, Warner Archive Collection!
Today’s pic is another shot from Rumble on the Docks (1956), sort of a teenage rock ‘n roll version of On the Waterfront (1954). Timothy is Frank Mangus, the muscle behind waterfront boss Joe Brindo (Michael Granger). Mangus’ preferred method of interaction with any type of furniture is to drape himself over, across or around it.
This is a great and funny role for Tim; he is clearly enjoying himself. Rumble is now officially available on DVD from the Warner Archive series, so snag yourself a copy today!
