This is where the Quote of the Week usually goes, but instead I’m going to ramble a bit. You’ve probably noticed that I was silent last week. I didn’t plan it that way, but as I was getting ready for the Oregon Burlesque Festival, it just sort of happened. For that I apologize. But, it looks like I may be posting sporadically for a while. The reason is that I now have an unexpected health issue on my plate.
I was recently diagnosed with an invasive carcinoma in my left breast. I’m going in this coming Wednesday for lumpectomy surgery. My surgeon tells me that since the tumor is very small and we caught it early, my prognosis for full recovery is excellent. I’m still a little apprehensive, but I have a good feeling that all is going to turn out well. The overriding emotion I’m feeling is, frankly, annoyance. I’ve got stuff to do, dammit! Well, every now and then you get thrown a curve ball. You just gotta roll with the punches, if I may be allowed to mix my sports metaphors.
I have a good support team, so as I say, I feel confident for a good final outcome. I’ll post when I can. In the meantime, let me offer some sound advice that is applicable in any situation.
Have strenght. Good luck.
