Today we take another gander at the Hopalong Cassidy episode “Grubstake,” which was first broadcast on February 5, 1954. Dan Warner, the town blacksmith, is being recruited by Hopalong (William Boyd) for an important assignment.

There has been talk for years concerning a new film version of Hopalong Cassidy, but nothing has materialized as of yet. I for one would welcome a sincere, non-jokey reboot of the “good guy in black.”
