Our video for this week is the trial scene from Stanley Kubrick‘s Paths of Glory (1957). The big difference here is that it has been dubbed into French!
We’ve heard Timothy dubbed into Italian before, but I do believe this is the first time some French dubbing has appeared on the blog. Considering the fact that the characters in the film would be speaking French anyway, it seems appropriate. Unfortunately, we don’t get to hear Pvt. Ferol’s snort of disbelief when Col. Dax (Kirk Douglas) asks him why he and Pvt. Meyer didn’t just go ahead and storm the Anthill anyway, all by themselves.
The timbre of Timothy’s French voice is reasonably close to his own. It is better than his dubbed voice in East of Eden.

Oh, absolutely! Apparently that was Albert Dekker’s voice in Eden. Just so not Tim!
