EDITOR’S NOTE 12/09/13: It has been taken down. Sorry about that folks!
I cannot believe this hasn’t been taken down yet. Amazing. Here is John Cassavetes‘ The Killing of a Chinese Bookie (1976) in its entirety. I believe this is the version he re-cut in 1978. No matter which version you see, Timothy is spellbinding as garrulous gangster Flo. One minute he’s friendly and expansive, the next minute he’s beating the stuffing out of you in a dark alley. And then he’s friendly again. Only Tim could pull that off without artifice.
He’s not onscreen nearly long enough. Enjoy, and always remember – “There’s hope, there’s hope, there’s hope!”
Great movie and great performances. Carey almost defines the atmosphere on his own.
