Pic of the Day: “Nightside” revisited

Closing out the work week is another shot of Timothy’s coked-up pimp Slowboy in the television movie Nightside (1980), directed by Bernard L. Kowalski. He is about to put the smackdown on his girl Rusty (Carol Newell).

Kowalski directed Tim several times, guiding him into some of his most memorable TV appearances. He began directing in the 1950s, hit his stride in the 60s, and pretty much owned television production in the 60s, 70s and 80s. He passed away in 2007. Sadly, they just don’t make ’em like that anymore.

  1. I worked with Bernie a few times as well including a totally unmemorable show called ME AND MOM or some such drivel. The great James Earl Jones made the show worth doing. He was a delight. Bernie was a gent to the end despite all manner of crazy shit that occured on the show. He cooled me out a few times after the girls were driving us all nuts with giggles and horseplay while were trying to work. But Bernie was Kool. He spoke kindly of Tim when he found out we were friends and the gleam in his eye told me that he’d had a memorable time. Tim was like that. You knew only afterwards, after the whirlwind had enveloped you and taken you for a ride, you knew only after it was all over that you had met a force…and survived to play another day.
