On this sunny Tuesday morning, we take another look at the Hopalong Cassidy episode “Grubstake,” which was first broadcast on February 5, 1954. Timothy, Robert Paquin and Gladys George are making sure that an ailing Percy Helton doesn’t strain himself too much while he’s laid up with God knows what.
Gladys George enjoyed a long career as one of Hollywood’s most reliable character actors. You probably remember her most as Miles Archer’s drama-queen widow in The Maltese Falcon (1941). Sadly, her performance in “Grubstake” was her last. She died in December of that same year, after years of health problems.
