Since yesterday’s pic was from the 1981 miniseries, today’s pic needed to be from the 1955 film. In fact, this is a candid behind-the-scenes shot of Tim and James Dean on the set, discussing something obviously very important.
I found this image on a nifty Tumblr blog dedicated to James Dean. I would love to know what kind of impression Tim made on Dean.
Timothy’s speaking voice in East of Eden seems to be dubbed by someone else. Do you know why, and by whom?

Hi R.J.! Yes, his voice was dubbed in by Albert Dekker, I understand. The story goes that Elia Kazan just wasn’t happy with Tim’s delivery. Tim shrugged and said, “That’s the way pimps talk.” Big mistake on Kazan’s part, I think. It’s so obvious that’s not his real voice, and the character would have seemed so much more strange to young Cal if they had used Tim’s real voice. Tim’s only line in Hellgate (1952) was also dubbed in by someone else.
